Holothrix ist ein Sex von terrestrisch und lithophytischOrchideen von verschiedenen Biotope von Afrika und der Südwesten der Arabische Halbinsel.

Eigenschaften

Holothrix-Arten sind terrestrisch oder lithophytisch Orchideen, gekennzeichnet durch 1 oder 2 oval bis fast rund bodennahe Blätter und aufrecht, meist verzweigt, buschig Blütenstand. Die Blüten sind klein, weiß oder gelb, behaart, mit fast einheitlichen, schmal dreieckigKelch und oben Blütenblätter, die Kelchblätter etwas kleiner. Das Lippe ist häutig bis fleischig, meist dreigeteilt, selten ungeteilt, mit einem am Rücken Spur.
