Ptenopus ist eine Gattung von Eidechsen gehört zu Geckos (Gekkota) und die Familie Gekkonidae. Die Gruppe wurde erstmals wissenschaftlich beschrieben von John Edward Gray im Jahr 1866.
Es gibt drei Arten, die im Süden vorkommen Afrika; Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Südafrika.[1]
