Imidazolin oder 2-Imidazolin ist ein nicht aromatischorganische Verbindung Mit als Bruttoformel C3huh6Nein2. Strukturell besteht es aus einem Fünfring, in dem zwei nicht benachbarte Kohlenstoffatome wurden ersetzt durch Stickstoffatome. Eines der Stickstoffatome ist doppelt gebunden mit einem Kohlenstoffatom (Iminbindung). Imidazolin ist strukturell sehr verwandt mit dem Guanidine und der Amine.
Anwendungen
Imidazolin spielt wie Imidazol eine wichtige Rolle als Carbenligand bei zahlreichen Übergangsmetalle. Es findet sich unter anderem als Ligand in zweiter Generation Grubbs' Katalysatoren.
